April 13, 2023 - 6-8pm PST
Speakers: Matthew Penn, DoD Solutions Architect
Location: Hybrid

About the speaker:

Matthew Penn is a Senior Data Scientist and leader of DoD Solutions Architecture for NVIDIA. His focus is the application of GPU-accelerated AI and high performance data analytics to cybersecurity challenges in the federal ecosystem. Prior to joining NVIDIA, Matt served as the Director of AI & Data Science at Altamira Technologies and as a Lead Data Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton where he supported NASA and the US DOD, among others. He holds a M.S. in Information Systems from Indiana University and a B.S in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Central Florida.

Abstract: We'll present NVIDIA Morpheus, an open application framework that enables cybersecurity developers to build stronger, faster AI-based cybersecurity solutions and some example use cases. Traditional cybersecurity solutions can no longer adequately defend against the most sophisticated threats because they cannot scale to address the increasing size of the problem. Human analysts alone cannot keep pace with increases in speed and capacity, but applying AI techniques can extend the capabilities of cybersecurity teams to enable faster identification and response to cyberattacks. With the latest developments in Morpheus, developers can take advantage of AI and data science tools, frameworks, pre-trained models, and infrastructure optimization software to build solutions that tackle cybersecurity challenges innovatively.
